3 Steps To Soothed Skin

Skin problems are never fun, but we try to keep it as simple as possible!

When it comes to skin problems, it's so important to ensure what you are putting on your skin is going to nourish, protect and soothe it. Many of our products were designed to work together, and therefore we recommend they’re used together to get the best results.

For those that are affected by Sensitive Skin, it is very important to maintain the skin barrier function so that irritants are less likely to trigger a reaction. This is how we do it:

1. Clean the slate

The most overlooked part of any skincare routine is often the cleanse. Skin needs to be clean, but using harsh detergents can strip skin of its natural oils, keeping it in a constantly irritated state. This is why skin problems seem to stick around or keep coming back uninvited.

We recommend cleansing skin with a natural, gentle wash that gets the job done without the unnecessary trauma. Synthetic sulfates like SLS do clean, but they can also do more damage than good, leaving skin dry, itchy and screaming for salvation. Keeping skin clean doesn't have to be a damaging ordeal.

2. Soothe the spots

Get the goods right where they're needed most. Apply Skin Calming Cream to affected areas as needed, whenever the skin is itchy.

Formulated for the symptomatic relief of mild eczema, dermatitis and mild psoriasis using skin-soothing ingredients Centella Asiatica, German Chamomile and Aloe Vera, and natural oils like Sweet Almond and Olive Oil to help improve skin barrier function. Always read the label, use only as directed. Patch test for allergies before use.

3. Make time to moisturize

Keeping skin hydrated is more important than you may think. When skin is dry, it's much easier for irritants to pass through. This can cause dermatitis to develop, sensitivities to start and flare-ups firing again.   Be sure to moisturize skin from your head to your hooves within 3 minutes of bathing to help lock moisture in. This is when your skin absorbs moisture the best.Moisturizing after showering, or even after washing your hands, helps form a barrier on the skin, preventing pesky germs from entering the body, which can bring on an annoying reaction.
