I have a coupon/discount code. How do I use it?

Occasionally, you might come across a coupon or discount code to use on our website to receive a specific offer with your online order. Each code can only be used once per customer, and the offer connected with the code is not available with any other offer (2 codes cannot be applied to the same order). All codes have expiry dates that needs to be adhered to without exception, and they must be applied in the Checkout stage (this cannot be done in the Shopping Cart). The discount or offer will be reflected in the order subtotal once the code has been applied correctly and all required code conditions have been met. All codes are not valid on any Value Packs, Gift Sets, Bundles, or already discounted products.

I have a coupon/discount code but it’s not working. Help!

After you input a coupon or discount code in the Checkout stage (this cannot be done in the Shopping Cart), if your order total has not changed (in the case of a discount), or you cannot see that the offer has been applied, then the code has not been accepted. This means that either all required code conditions have not been met or it has not been applied correctly. If you are not able to discover the reason for the error, the code has not expired and you believe the code should be working, please contact us at info@moogooskincare.ca before your order is complete so we can help you with this issue.

Please note that each code can only be used once per customer, and the offer connected with the code is not available with any other offer (2 codes cannot be applied to the same order). All coupon codes have expiry dates that needs to be adhered to without exception, and they must be applied in the Checkout stage (this cannot be done in the Shopping Cart).  All discount codes are not valid on any Value Packs, Gift Sets, Bundles, or already discounted products.

I couldn’t get my coupon/discount code to work. Can I get a refund for the discount amount (or offer)?

If you try to apply a coupon or discount code in the Checkout stage and it does not work, do not go ahead with the purchase. Please contact us at info@moogooskincare.ca before your order is complete so we can help you with this issue. We will not provide refunds later for a discounted amount or offer if the coupon/discount code is not applied to the order correctly.

I should have a Bonus Gift in my order, but I can’t see it in my Shopping Cart. What should I do?

Please check the qualifier for the promotion to make sure all conditions have been met as conditions vary for each promotion. Bonus Gifts are added to the Shopping Cart automatically. If a certain order value needs to be reached, this will be based on the subtotal of your order, not the total. Shipping charges are not included in the order subtotal.

If you also apply a coupon or discount code, your subtotal may drop below the order value needed to qualify for the Bonus Gift, so be sure to check that you still qualify for the Bonus Gift offer. For example, if the gift is not showing in your Shopping Cart or it has disappeared, it means that conditions haven’t been met or are no longer being met. If this is the case, adjust your order accordingly. If you’re still experiencing issues, please contact us at info@moogooskincare.ca before your order is complete so we can help you with this issue. We cannot add Bonus Gifts to an order once it has been placed or provide the separate from the order.

The product I received looks different than what I saw on the website. Is it the same?

Due to intermittent changes in packaging design, the product you receive might differ in appearance from what you see on the website. We assure you that the ingredients inside are the same even if the product name, label or box has changed in appearance. If you have a question about a specific product you’ve ordered, please get in touch with us at info@moogooskincare.ca if you need further clarification.

The product I received has different ingredients than what I saw on the website. Is it the same?

Please be aware that the ingredients we use in our formulas may be updated occasionally and therefore vary from time to time. Please refer to the ingredient list on the product packaging for the most up-to-date and relevant list of ingredients. If allergies are an issue or if you have a question about a specific product you’ve ordered, please get in touch with us at info@moogooskincare.ca if you need further clarification.

Are your products tested on animals?

The only animals we use for testing are our own bodies. We never test on animals and will not export to countries that do.

Are your products made of milk?

We aren’t called MooGoo because our products are made with milk. Putting fresh milk into a personal care product and putting it on a shelf would not end well. We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein from a credible Australian supplier in some of our skin and hair care products because research has found that it helps to increase skin elasticity by up to 20%, as well as protects hair fibres and revitalizes hair's natural protective layer. Not all our products contain Milk Protein, so if allergies are a concern, we do have some other great, healthy options for you to choose from. The only other non-vegan ingredients we use is some of our products other than Milk Protein are Honey and Beeswax.

Can I use MooGoo on a newborn?

We get this question a lot, and the simple answer is YES! All the ingredients we use in our products are gentle enough for newborns. We suggest you always patch test first to check for allergies to any natural ingredients. We don’t recommend using any of our anti-ageing products on babies or children; they definitely don’t need them yet.

Are ALL product ingredients listed on the packaging?

YES! At MooGoo, we believe it’s important to let people know exactly what they’re putting on their skin. Some types of products do not require all included ingredients to be listed, but we prefer transparency and keeping our customers informed, so we do so voluntarily. No secrets here! We’re as proud of the back of the bottle as we are of the front and what’s inside of it.

Do all your products have an expiry date?

All MooGoo products have an expiry date noted on the packaging, but each product should last at least 24 months from the date it’s made if stored below 30°C, away from direct sunlight.

Are your products safe for use after the best before date?

We cannot guarantee the effectiveness of products after this date, however, generally the products maintain integrity well beyond the best before date. It is a personal choice whether or not to continue using a product after its expiry date has passed.

My product is a different colour/ consistency than I’m used to. Has the formula changed?

You may notice that a product you’ve used before looks different than the last time you purchased and used it. When working with natural ingredients, there can be slight variances from batch to batch that can cause a change in smell, colour and texture. You may also notice changes in colour after using a product for a couple of weeks. This can happen when the top layer of the product is exposed to air and mixes throughout the product, resulting in an overall colour change. This just a superficial change and the product itself is still safe for use (always check expiry dates!).

I can’t seem to get all the product out of the bottle? Help!

Products with higher viscosity can be harder to dispense through a pump when the product is running low. To get your hands on the last bit of product, simply turn the bottle upside down and allow it to make its way down with the help of gravity. Later when you unscrew the cap, the product will be there ready for you to use and enjoy. You can also add a small amount of water to the remaining product and shake it to make it a bit thinner so it can more easily be dispensed through the pump or poured into your hand.

Are MooGoo products safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Absolutely! All our products are made with natural ingredients, so they’re edible too (although we don’t recommend this because they don’t taste good). Our Skin Calming Cream and Oil Cleansing Method do contain some essential oils which some internet sites suggest avoiding during pregnancy. However, this usually refers to aromatherapy or applying the oil directly to the skin. We only use very small amounts, but of course it’s always a personal choice and we recommend to patch test for allergies before use.

What does “Dermatologically Tested” mean?

You may have seen the term “Dermatologically Tested” on lots of products before, but did you know there’s no actual definition or regulation for this term? Because that didn’t sit right with us, and because our aim is to make products for people with really sensitive skin, we decided to send a bunch of them off to be tested in an independent lab on 54 people who reported having sensitive skin. The results were given on a scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being no irritation or redness and 5 being a reaction. We’re happy to report that other than one person who had a reaction to the adhesive on the patch and another who found the patches painful to remove, all subjects reported 0 for redness and irritation for all the products we sent for testing. Check out the full report and summary of the test we did on the products.

Are your products certified organic?

Our products are made of natural ingredients, but not all of them are certified organic. Organic certification can be very useful when it comes to unprocessed food to ensure it's free of pesticides and not genetically modified. However, when it comes to skincare, ingredients are usually refined in order to draw out the pure oils and other cosmetic grade ingredients. Impurities and unwanted components are filtered out which means they become free of pesticides. Cosmetic grade ingredients, whether natural, organic or synthetic, need to be delivered with purity standards. We've chosen to focus on using natural, healthy, edible ingredients based on how much they help the skin rather than whether they get the tick of approval by organic certifying bodies. Natural is almost always best option, in our opinion.

The only other non-vegan ingredients we use is some of our products other than Milk Protein are Honey in some of our moisturizers and Beeswax in our lip balms.

How do you treat your cows?

This is a common misconception about MooGoo. It may come as a surprise, but we don’t have any cows of our own. When it comes to sourcing our ingredients, animal welfare is a topic that we’re very mindful of. We would never choose to use an ingredient that was derived in a way that harmed any animal in its making.

Where do you source your Milk Protein?

We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein from a credible Australian supplier in some of our skin and hair care products. To make sure we know where our Milk Protein was coming from, we’ve spoken extensively with the supplier and their quality manager at the farms where the lovely cows are looked after. They’ve guaranteed they are members of SEDEX, which ensures that ethical practises are always used and implemented in all their locations. They also place a high importance on the welfare of their cows and have no tolerance for any kind of animal cruelty. Regular site checks are conducted on their farms here in Australia to ensure these standards are being upheld.

How do you choose your ingredients?

A lot of thought goes into our ingredient choices, but here are a few of the main things we consider:

Non-irritating: Just because an ingredient is natural doesn't mean it’s going to be gentle on the skin. Many essential oils, although lovely, can trigger reactions, so we don't use too many of these in our formulas. As well as many synthetic chemicals, there is a long list of natural ingredients we also avoid.

Must Be Edible: Everything we choose to use must be as safe as possible if ingested or absorbed. Everything is a poison if you consume enough of it, even water (that's called Water Toxemia). Most of the ingredients we use, like Aloe, our naturally derived plant oils, and even our preservative system (based on Hops), are also used in foods.

Always Effective: There's no point having ‘Green Tea' in a product if it just means a tiny bit of Green Tea as it wouldn't make any difference to the skin. Instead, we use the concentrated extract so it can serve a purpose. Another example is Aloe Vera, which is mostly water. We use the concentrated extract of Aloe so we can benefit from the full concentration of the best part of the Aloe plant.

What is the pH level of your products?

All our products are balanced to the pH of human skin at 5.5 to 6.0.

Do you use tap water in your products?

We can confirm that our manufacturing process does not use tap water in our formulations. Water used in all MooGoo products is first treated via a reverse osmosis system. Reverse osmosis is a separation process that uses a synthetic thin film polymeric membrane specifically engineered to allow water to pass through but is 99% effective at removing PFAS.

I need a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Where can I find this?

If you require an MSDS, please e-mail us at info@moogooskincare.ca and we'll send it to you.

I have extremely sensitive skin. What if I react to MooGoo?

Everybody is different and what works for some will not for others, and some people have allergies to natural ingredients. We believe that natural ingredients are gentler on the skin and scalp and are particularly suitable for those that experience skin or scalp issues or sensitivity. As with all natural products, we do suggest you patch test first to ensure no reactions. We have a 100% customer satisfaction policy. If you are not satisfied with a product(s) you have purchased online, we will happily organise a refund or exchange.

Some of your products have fragrances. Aren’t fragrances bad?

We design our products be suitable for people with very sensitive skin, but we also know that many people, including ourselves, enjoy having a fragrance in our products. To give them a lovely scent without compromising their gentleness and non-irritating nature, we use a special hypoallergenic fragrant oil, a proprietary blend whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. Also, it’s free from phthalates, which is a major concern in fragrances.

My child has a nut allergy. Do they need nut-free skincare?

Most allergies to nuts are triggered by nut proteins, not nut oils. But when it comes to allergic reactions many people choose to be extra cautious and avoid anything made with nut oils as well. For that reason, we made our Baby Range free of nut-oils to give parents of children with allergies peace of mind.

Are your products gluten-free?

We haven't had tests done on our products to classify them as 'gluten-free', however, none of our products contain any ingredients that contain gluten, so we believe they are all are gluten -free. As with all natural products, we do suggest you patch test first to ensure no reactions.

I have a sensitive skin/allergies. Can I try a sample before I buy?

Unfortunately, it's not possible for us to send out samples for trial before purchasing. Keep in mind, we have a 100% customer satisfaction policy. If you are not satisfied with a product(s) you have purchased online, we will happily organise a refund or exchange. Everybody is so different and what works for some will not for others. As with all natural products, we do suggest you patch test first to ensure no reactions.

How do I perform a Patch Test?

When allergies, reactions and sensitivities are a concern, we always recommend performing a patch test of all new products to ensure no reaction. Do this by applying a pea-sized amount of product as close as possible to the most affected area and leave for 24 hours. If there is no specific affected area, choose a discreet spot like inside the upper arm. If any sort of irritation occurs, discontinue use of the product immediately. If you do not experience any irritation, you may go ahead and use the product as directed.

Is Skin Calming Cream a moisturizer?

Although our Skin Calming Cream is made with moisturizing oils, it’s not specifically a moisturizer that easily spreads all over the body. It only needs to be applied to affected areas of skin and works great in conjunction with a healthy, calming moisturizer. Our Soothing MSM Moisturizer is ideal as it has high concentrations of MSM, a well-known soothing ingredient.

Can I use Skin Calming Cream on my eyelids?

Yes, it can be used on the eyelid, not the eyeball though! It’s gentle enough to be used on the thin skin of the eye area. If you’re using it for the first time, we recommend performing a patch test somewhere else on the body first to ensure no reactions.

What products do you recommend for irritable skin?

There are many factors that contribute to the state of your skin, and while everyone's skin is so different, there are 3 steps that lead to better skin days: wash, treat, moisturize.

Wash: Skin needs to be cleaned but this doesn’t need to be done with harsh detergents that strip the skin of its natural oils. Sulfates (like SLS) do a lot more damage than good, often leaving skin dry, tight and screaming for a scratch. We always recommend using something natural, gentle and moisturizing like our Milk Wash.

Treat: For affected areas, our Skin Calming Cream is a spot treatment designed to hydrate, soothe and protect red, distressed skin. It also helps restore skin barrier function to protect skin from irritants to prevent future flare-ups and meltdowns.

Moisturize: When skin is dry, it's much easier for irritants to pass through the skin barrier, causing dermatitis to develop and sensitivities to start. If you’re serious about your skin's health, skip anything made with mineral oils an163113.4d get something made with useful ingredients that will nourish you skin like our Soothing MSM Moisturizer. Apply over top of our Skin Calming Cream and you'll be on your way to clearer, calmer skin.

What's the best way to apply Scalp Cream?

For best results, apply the cream to a damp hair/scalp. Part the hair in as many places as possible and leave it in overnight. In the morning gently dry brush the hair. You may notice that dry flakes will be removed; this is a good sign as it means a fresh layer of skin has appeared that should be free from irritation. You can then rinse out with a natural shampoo (we think ours is pretty good) to remove any excess. Repeat this until the condition has cleared, most people see results within three days.

What products do you recommend for irritable scalps?

For any scalp under the sun, healthy or troubled, we always recommend using our sulfate-free Milk Shampoo and our silicone-free Cream Conditioner. These are particularly helpful for stressed-out scalps because they won’t add to the problem by stripping it and causing further dryness or create the conditions for scalp-irritating build-up. They also both contain nourishing and beneficial ingredients that help control the microflora of the scalp.

If you're into using dry shampoo, we suggest skipping on all aerosols. Beyond the obvious inhalation of aerosol chemicals, spray format dry shampoos also tend to be a bit wet upon application and can coat the hair and scalp causing build-up, irritation and itchiness, all things we’d prefer not to put our heads through. Our natural powder Dry Shampoo formula is non-irritating, won’t build up on the scalp and rinses right out as soon as you decide to shower.

Can I use MooGoo products during/after chemo or radiation therapy?

During and following chemotherapy or radiation treatment, skin can react in a variety of ways including becoming itchy, flaky, red, swollen, tight and dry, and may even develop rashes and blisters. This can become uncomfortable, painful and even quite distressing. When caring for skin during and after treatment, we think it’s best to use natural, gentle, hydrating products that aren’t loaded with too many ingredients as the skin can become hypersensitive. Also try to avoid products made with synthetic preservatives like Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, as well as penetration enhancers, phthalates etc.  Harsh ingredients like sulphates (like SLS) found in most commercial and clinical washes can also exacerbate symptoms as they tend to strip the skin of its natural oils and cause further dryness and irritation. Of course, we don’t use any of these ingredients.

Our entire range is very gentle on the skin, so we find our products to be helpful to those going through treatment. Our key product recommendations to support the skin while undergoing cancer treatment can be found as a bundle in our Oncology Care Set.

Can your moisturizers be used on the face?

Yes, it most certainly can and SHOULD! Most commercial moisturizing products are made with cheap, petroleum-based ingredients like Mineral Oil that make the skin feel smooth, but don’t provide much benefit to the skin. Many body moisturizers are also made with powerful penetration enhancers based on Glycols and PEGs (essentially solvents) that help the cream penetrate the top layers of the skin, so they don’t feel as greasy. We suggest not using any creams that fall into this category, but especially not on your face and the delicate skin around your eyes. BUT, if your body moisturizer is made with high-quality, skin-friendly, natural ingredients like ours are, then we highly recommend using it on your face. The natural oils we use sink in to quench deep down dehydration, also making them non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t block your pores.

What ingredients do you avoid when making a moisturizer?

There's lots of things you won't find in our moisturizers (or any of our other products for that matter) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. We steer clear of ingredients like Paraffin and Mineral Oils, which are derived from petroleum, but are commonly found in commercial moisturizers like Sorbolene. We don't think putting the stuff that goes in our cars on our skin is the healthiest thing we can do. We much prefer natural, skin-friendly oils because they provide your skin with soothing hydration and natural nourishment you won't get from the likes of Petroleum Jelly.

We also don't use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they're still pretty common, even by a few brands that claim to be natural (you know who you are!). We avoid a lot of other things too, but there's way too many to list here. Instead, we just stick to natural and effective ingredients for healthy skin.

My cream isn't white. Does this mean it has gone bad?

You may notice that your cream isn't bright white or changes colour slightly over time. This is because we use natural ingredients which are often rich in colour and can change the colour of a cream after it's mixed in. Although people generally expect a cream to always be white, we choose not to use any bleaching ingredients to keep them white. So, don't be surprised if your cream changes to a light tan, pink or grey colour over time, it's not a bad thing and is perfectly fine to use (always check expiry dates)! It's also good to note that the colour of your cream may also vary slightly from tube to tube, or bottle to bottle.

What’s the difference between Skin Milk Udder Cream and Full Cream Moisturizer?

Our Skin Milk Udder Cream is a lighter formulation, made with Sweet Almond, Olive and Rice Bran Oil as its nourishing base. Our Full Cream Moisturizer is a bit thicker and creamier, made with Sweet Almond, Olive and Coconut Oil as its hydrating base. This oil combination provides a bit more hydration and protection for dry skin, particularly in the winter months when dry skin episodes can flare up. Both formulas contain Milk Protein which has been found to increase skin elasticity by up to 20%, and both can be applied to the face and body.

Why do you use Milk Protein in some of your moisturizers?

We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein in some of our skincare products because research has found that it helps to increase skin elasticity by up to 20%.

What other MooGoo products help dry skin?

For all skin under the sun, we always recommend using our creamy, sulfate-free Milk Wash. This is particularly helpful for dry skin because it won’t add to the problem by stripping it of its natural oils and causing further dryness. It also contains nourishing and beneficial ingredients that keep the skin moisturized, soft and s-MOO-th.

What is MSM?

Methyl-sulfonyl-methane (don't worry, there won't be a spelling bee), aka MSM, is a natural source of organic sulfur. Think of it as the glue that holds together our amino acid chains, aka the building blocks our tissues. We love this mineral not only because it’s naturally abundant in the human body, but because when applied in a moisturizer, it benefits all skin types in so many ways. Its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties help skin prone to conditions like eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea, acne, dryness and sensitivity.

Why does my moisturizer smell like that?

Natural ingredients can often come with a scent that can affect how the moisturizer smells. This isn't a bad thing, but it's not always a smell that people expect from a moisturizer. For example, we use Hops Extract as a natural preservative system in many of our formulas and it gives our creams an earthy scent, some more than others. While we don't mind it at all, it can be a big change from overpowering fragrances you might be used to in other moisturizing products. We add non-irritating fragrant oils to some of our moisturizing products which gives them a pleasant scent that we think works well with the other natural scents of the natural ingredients we use.

Why do you only make one shampoo and conditioner?

We often get asked why we don’t make different shampoos specific to different hair types such as damaged / thin / curly hair etc. While we believe that people have different hair types, if you look closely at ingredient labels, you’ll notice there often isn't much difference between products specifically made for each variation.

A shampoo made for thin or damaged hair is usually lower in sulfates so they’re slightly gentler on the hair, but they also often contain silicone-based ingredients to coat the hair to make it ‘feel’ thicker and stronger. The same goes for conditioners. This usually leads to build up on the hair that may require a clarifying shampoo to remove.

Are your hair care products safe for colour-treated hair?

For those out there that colour their hair, a colour-safe product, particularly shampoo, is anything that doesn’t contain any sulfates (like SLS or SLES) and is not alkaline. We steer clear of sulfates because they strip the hair of its natural oils, but they also tend to quickly remove colour too. Alkaline hair products (like most shampoo bars) cause hair cuticles to open up and allows colour to leach out. All our products are pH balanced to be slightly acidic, matching the pH of human skin, making it suitable for colour treated hair, helping colour stay put.

Are your hair care products suitable for children?

All our hair care products are made for the whole family! For all ages, from adults to newborns, and everything in between. They’re even gentle enough to be used on delicate baby scalps! Since our Milk Shampoo is free of sulfates like SLS, it's a tear-free formula, and many parent customers let us know that our Cream Conditioner and Protein Shot Leave-In are both lifesavers as they help get a comb through their children’s hair, without the silicone and without the tears. If allergies are a concern, as with all natural products, patch test before use.

Why do you use Milk Protein in your hair care formulas?

We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein in our hair care products because it helps to protect hair fibres and revitalizes hair's natural protective layer.

Are your hair care products suitable for curly hair?

We’ve found that all our hair care products are pretty popular among people with curly hair, and even recommended by some curly hair communities and followers of the Curly Girl Method. Our Milk Shampoo is free of sulphates, so it doesn’t dry out curly hair causing breakage and frizz. Our Cream Conditioner is free of silicone that tends to weight hair down and it’s also used to wash curly hair to keep curls clean and as hydrated as possible (this is called the ‘No Poo’ method). And finally, our Protein Shot Leave-In is also silicone free and is great for styling and hydrating curly hair while also protecting it from heat-styling damage.

The roller on my Fresh Cream Deodorant won’t spin. Help!?

When you first use your new Fresh Cream Deodorant, you may notice the rollerball is a little stiff or won’t move at all. This can happen due to colder temperatures our products are either stored in or transported in on their way to you (it is Canada, after all). Getting your rollerball working is easy, simply run it under very warm water. This should loosen the ball and get things rolling again. It might need a good shove, but once it gets rolling, it usually stays that way. If you live in a place with very cold winters, you may have to do this every so often.

Is your deodorant suitable for teenagers?

Our Fresh Cream Deodorants are made for absolutely every-body! It’s suitable for all ages, as needed, from children to adults, and everything in between. We think it’s best to get young teenagers started with natural deodorants straight away instead of using antiperspirants that they may have to detox from later. If allergies are a concern, as with all natural products, we recommend doing a patch test before use.

Do natural deodorants work?

In comparison to antiperspirants, which just like the name implies are anti-perspiration, no, natural deodorants don’t work. The reason for this is because deodorants deodorize and will not stop you from sweating because they do not contain the aluminum-based ingredients that clog up your pores and sweat glands.

Within the world of natural deodorants, whether you use a crystal, a paste, or a roll-on like ours, the effectiveness of a deodorant is based on how well it controls your smelliness. We use an alkaline formula to control odour-causing bacteria from throwing a party in your pits (no bacteria = no smell). You will still sweat, a natural process we prefer not to mess with.

How do I switch to a natural deodorant?

When swapping from an antiperspirant you’ve used for years to an aluminium-free, natural deodorant, there is going to be a purging process and an adjustment period. Let’s be clear here, deodorants don’t stop you from sweating like antiperspirants do so it's important to fully understand this. When making the switch, it's common to think that natural deodorants don't work. This is because you may not be used to sweating and haven't adjusted yet.

We've also heard from some of our customers that they became 'smelly' for a short time. While this sounds like a bad thing, it’s actually a good thing. It means that your sweat glands are starting to detoxify after being clogged for so many years. Like rehab for your armpits, it may not be pleasant but it’s the best thing for them. We found there is a transition period of about 2 weeks as the body adjusts to the glorious freedom of natural deodorant.

My baby accidentally ate the product. Will they be OK?

We don’t recommend using our products as baby food, but if some is ingested you can rest assured that our products are made from 100% natural, edible ingredients.

Can your cleansers be used on the face?

Yes, it most certainly can and SHOULD! Most commercial body wash products are made with sulfates and detergents that clean the skin but can also often strip it of its natural oils. If you use a body wash product with ingredients like SLS, we definitely recommend NEVER using it on the delicate skin of the face. Tight, dry skin is a leading cause of the visible signs of premature ageing. BUT, if you use a body cleanser with high-quality, skin-friendly, natural ingredients like our Milk Wash, then we highly recommend using it on your face so your visage can also reap the benefits of this wonderful wash. Now you’ve got a masterful multi-tasker.

What ingredients do you avoid when making a cleanser?

There's lots of things you won't find in our cleansers (or any of our other products for that matter) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. We steer clear of ingredients like SLS and SLES, which can be found in many commercial shampoos, hand washes and even heavy-duty floor cleansers. It's quite a harsh ingredient and doesn't play nice with skin, often causing dryness, irritation and even skin flare-ups. We don't think putting the stuff that goes in our cars on our skin is the healthiest thing we can do. We much prefer natural, skin-friendly cleansers because they provide your skin with hygiene as well as hydration and natural nourishment you won't get from any sulfates.

Why do you use Milk Protein in some of your cleansers?

We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein in some of our skincare products because research has found that it helps to increase skin elasticity by up to 20%.

Why does my cleanser smell like that?

Natural ingredients can often come with a scent that can affect how the cleanser smells. This isn't a bad thing, but it's not always a smell that people expect from a cleanser. While we don't mind it at all, it can be a big change from overpowering fragrances you might be used to in other cleansing products. We add non-irritating fragrant oils to our cleanser formulas which gives them a pleasant scent that we think works well with the other natural scents of the natural ingredients we use.

How is Milk Wash different than the Ultra Gentle Cleanser?

While both of our cleansers are designed for the most sensitive skin, there are a few differences. The primary cleanser in the Ultra Gentle Cleanser is Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, which is the gentlest cleansing ingredient available anywhere. The primary cleanser for our Milk Wash is Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which is also super gentle and non-irritating. Our Milk Wash also does not contain any Ceramides and our Ultra Gentle Cleanser doesn’t contain any Milk Protein. Both are gentle enough to be used daily, all over the body, including the face.

Are your cleansers soap-free?

Yes, all our cleansing products are soap-free and are pH balanced to 5.5, the pH of healthy, human skin. Commercial soap is usually a solid bar made through a process called saponification, causing the soap to have a higher pH level that our skin. They’re often made with vegetable or animal fats and can be very drying due to their alkaline nature.

Are your cleansers anti-bacterial?

All cleansers have the molecular structure that breaks down the membrane barrier of dirt, impurities, bacteria and viruses, along with the mechanical action of washing with water.

Are your cleansers septic-safe?

As all our ingredients are biodegradable and non-toxic, not only are they wonderful for your skin, but they are safe and suitable for septic and grey water too!
