Our Milk Wash is one of our most popular products and most versatile too. It’s suitable for all skin types, including very sensitive skin, as well as skin that’s oily, dry or somewhere in between. It can be used all over the body, making it a face wash, body wash and hand wash in one, and it’s for the whole family too; for all ages and genders, including newborns, children, teenagers and adults.

On top of that, due to its creamy texture, customers have told us that it doubles as a light shaving cream, for men and women, if you’re into that. So, it basically does everything.

Not all cleansers are created equal

To clean your skin, we use natural cleansing ingredients that remove excess oils and dirt, but won’t leave your skin dry, itchy, tight and screaming for salvation. Our effective, skin-friendly formula is made with a combination of 5 different naturally derived cleansers (because it’s gentler than using just one on its own) to give your skin a gentle, deep clean and help you achieve happy and hydrated, soft, s-MOO-th skin.

We steer clear of harsh detergents and sulfates like SLS & SLES, which are often found in skin washes but are also used in commercial floor cleaning products and engine degreasers - no thanks!. SLS is the most common one, but there are others to keep an eye out for on product labels, usually big words ending in –fate.

We think these are too harsh to be used on humans because they strip out and wash away too much oil and moisture from the skin often leading to itchiness, irritation and dryness, and often causing skin issues to flare-up, stick around and come back uninvited.

More than just skin washing

As well as getting the cleaning job done, there’s quite a bit more about our formula that we'd like to brag about. We only use high-quality, natural ingredients that keep your skin nourished and conditioned, and even help to maintain a balanced microflora.

We also tossed in a healthy dose of Milk Protein which helps to increase skin elasticity by up to 20% for softer, more supple skin.

But what's in our all-natural face and body wash is just as important as what's not. Our formula also contains no parabens or other synthetic preservatives like yucky phenoxyethanol.

Less foamy but more healthy

Natural cleansers are not only gentler on the skin, but they’re also much better for the environment when they’re washed down the drain into our waterways. We also think it’s important for everyone to know that the foam created by natural cleansers is noticeably less than those made by cheap and simple sulfates. This means a little more agitation is required to build up a lather.

Can Milk Wash be used on the face?

Yes, it most certainly can and SHOULD! Most commercial body wash products are made with sulfates and detergents that clean the skin but can also often strip it of its natural oils. If you use a body wash product with ingredients like SLS, we definitely recommend NEVER using it on the delicate skin of the face. Tight, dry skin is a leading cause of the visible signs of premature ageing.

BUT, if you use a body cleanser with high-quality, skin-friendly, natural ingredients like our Milk Wash, then we highly recommend using it on your face so your visage can also reap the benefits of this wonderful wash. Now you’ve got a masterful multi-tasker.

Your Milk Wash has a fragrance. Aren’t fragrances bad?

We designed our Milk Wash to be suitable for people with sensitive skin, but we also know that many people, including ourselves, enjoy having a fragrance in our skincare products. To give our Milk Wash its delicious, signature scent without compromising its gentleness and non-irritating nature, we use a special hypoallergenic fragrant oil, a proprietary blend whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. Also, it’s free from phthalates, which is a major concern in fragrances.

I can’t seem to get all the product out of the bottle? Help!

Products with higher viscosity can be harder to dispense through a pump when the product is running low. To get your hands on the last bit of product, simply turn the bottle upside down and allow it to make its way down with the help of gravity. Later when you unscrew the cap, the product will be there ready for you to use and enjoy. You can also add a small amount of water to the remaining product and shake it to make it a bit thinner so it can more easily be dispensed through the pump or poured into your hand.

Is Milk Wash made of milk?

We aren’t called MooGoo because our products are made with milk. Putting fresh milk into a skincare product and putting it on a shelf would not end well. We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein from a credible Australian supplier.

Is Milk Wash suitable for children?

Our Milk Wash is made for the whole family! For all ages, from adults to newborns, and everything in between. It’s even gentle enough to be used on delicate baby skin. Since it's free of sulfates like SLS, it's a tear-free too. If allergies are a concern, as with all natural products, we recommend doing a patch test before use.

Where do you source your Milk Protein?

When sourcing ingredients, animal welfare is a topic that we’re very mindful of. We source our Milk Protein from a credible supplier in Australia and we spoke with them extensively to ensure that ethical practices are implemented throughout their business.

What is the pH level of your products?

Our Milk Wash is slightly acidic, balanced to the pH of human skin at 5.5 to 6.0. pH is measured from 0 to 14 depending on how acidic or alkaline a substance is.

Healthy skin can retain moisture, maintain a robust microbiome and keep irritants away. Using a cleanser that's pH balanced to match our skin is one of the best ways to support this.

I have sensitive skin; will I react to Milk Wash?

Everybody is different and what works for some will not for others, and some people have allergies to natural ingredients. We believe that natural ingredients are gentler on the skin and are particularly suitable for those with sensitivities. If you experience any skin issues, we always recommend doing a patch test before use.

Are your products tested on animals?

The only animals we use for testing are our own bodies. We never test on animals and will not export to countries that do.

I have dry / oily / itchy skin. Will Milk Wash work for me?

We often get asked why we don’t make different cleansers specific to different skin types. While we believe that people have different skin types, if you look closely at ingredient labels, you’ll notice there often isn't much difference between products specifically made for each variation.

In our opinion, we don’t think all the different types of cleansers are needed if you have a good formula, and we think ours are pretty darn good. A cleanser made for oily skin would have a slightly higher concentration of cleansers than one made for dry skin, but you can achieve much the same result by varying the amount of cleanser you use or washing your skin twice, if needed.

How is Milk Wash different than the Ultra Gentle Cleanser with Ceramides?

While both of our cleansers are wonderfully gentle and designed for the most sensitive skin, there are a few differences. The primary cleanser in the Ultra Gentle Cleanser with Ceramides is Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, which is the gentlest cleansing ingredient available anywhere. The primary cleanser for our Milk Wash is Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which is also super gentle and non-irritating. Our Milk Wash also does not contain any Ceramides.

Are natural cleansers good for your skin?

Detergents and sulfates like SLS, which are often found in skin wash products are also used in commercial floor cleaning products. We think these strip out and wash away too much oil and moisture from the skin, often causing itchiness, irritation and dryness. We think switching to a gentler, more natural body wash is one of the best things you can do for your skin.

Is natural body wash better for the environment?

Natural cleansers are also much better for the environment when they’re washed down the drain and enter our waterways as they break down more quickly than synthetic ingredients.

Does natural face and body wash work?

Natural face and body washes work just as well at washing the skin as their synthetic counterparts. But the foam and suds created by cleansers in natural cleaners is noticeably less than those made by their commercial counterparts, which can make it feel less effective. We think this trade-off is well worth the extra benefit.

Why are natural cleansing products better?

Natural cleansing products are made with natural cleansing ingredients that don’t strip the skin of their natural oils. Natural cleansers also break down faster once they reach our waterways.

What kind of cleanser is best for sensitive skin / skin issues?

The best kind of cleanser for sensitive skin or skin prone to eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis is one that can gently and effectively keep it clean without stripping it of its natural, protective oils and not cause further irritation.

Harshly stripping the skin can compromise skin barrier function, which can cause moisture to escape and unwanted irritants to get in causing skin reactions to flare-up, stick around and come back uninvited.
