Who is Ultra Gentle Cleanser with Ceramides best for?

We always make our products suitable for all skin types, and this is no exception! Because it's so gentle, we think it's particularly suitable for those with eczema-prone, hypersensitive and fragile skin, or those going through chemotherapy or radiation treatment.

It's suitable for absolutely every-body, this means all ages, skin types and genders, from head to toe. Whether you have sensitive skin or not, we believe it's so important to wash your skin with something gentle as to not over-strip your skin of its natural oils.

What are Ceramides, and how are they beneficial?

Ceramides are fats (lipids) that exist in high concentrations in the skin, particularly when it’s healthy. They make up more than 50% of the skin’s composition, but they assist in retaining water and protecting the skin barrier from irritants. Think of them as protectants that hold the skin together.

Those that suffer from skin conditions like eczema may have a Ceramide deficiency, so we recommend supplementing with topical products. Over time, factors like sun damage, ageing and other irritants can decrease Ceramide content in the skin. The skin barrier is more susceptible to weakening when Ceramides are depleted, causing the skin to become drier, more easily irritated and show signs of ageing. By topping up Ceramide levels, they can help rebuild skin strength and improve skin barrier function.

What type of Ceramides do you use?

We use Ceramides 3, which is a skin-identical barrier lipid that works to strengthen skin barrier function. Essentially, it’s an identical molecule to the ones found in our skin, so they’re easily absorbed, and you’ll receive long-term protection and support from ongoing supplementation.

Is Ultra Gentle Cleanser with Ceramides a face wash?

Yes, it most certainly can and SHOULD be! Most commercial body wash products are made with sulfates and detergents that clean the skin but can also often strip it of its natural oils. If you use a body wash product with ingredients like SLS, we definitely recommend NEVER using it on the delicate skin of the face. Tight, dry skin is a leading cause of the visible signs of premature ageing.

BUT, if you use a body cleanser with high-quality, skin-friendly, natural ingredients like our Ultra Gentle Cleanser with Ceramides, then we highly recommend using it on your face so your visage can also reap the benefits of this wonderful wash. Now you’ve got a masterful multi-tasker.

What's special about Fast Hydrating Lotion?

The biggest point of difference for our Fast-Hydrating Lotion is in its name; it absorbs quickly into the skin! This is due to the ratio of emollients/emulsifiers and the concentration of lipids. The ratio we use causes the formula to be light(er)weight and not require much work to rub it in. Also, the moisturizing oils we use in this formula were selected specifically because they're lighter and tend to sink into the skin more quickly than heavier oils.

Heavier creams are great too, but they can take longer to apply, and require more elbow grease to rub them in. This light(er)weight formula is perfect when you’re short on time and it’s also great for the squirmy little ones (children) that won’t sit still.

How much Niacinamide is in the FHL?

Our Fast-Hydrating Lotion has 2% Niacinamide in it, and Niacinamide has multiple benefits to the skin. This includes replenishing dull and dry skin, as well as soothing sensitive skin. It also helps with decreasing water loss, brightening pigmentation spots, and stimulating collagen synthesis, just to name a few.

Sounds like there isn’t much Niacinamide can’t do, and the research keeps coming out to back it up, making it one of the most versatile and exciting skincare ingredients on the block. We love well-researched ingredients with a clinical track record, and we also love seeing results, which is why we put enough of it in this moisturizer to make a noticeable difference to your skin.

Can Fast Hydrating Lotion be used on the face?

Yes, it most certainly can and SHOULD! Most commercial moisturizing products are made with cheap, petroleum-based ingredients like Mineral Oil that make the skin feel smooth, but don’t provide much benefit to the skin. Many body moisturizers are also made with powerful penetration enhancers based on Glycols and PEGs (essentially solvents) that help the cream penetrate the top layers of the skin, so they don’t feel as greasy. We suggest not using any creams that fall into this category, but especially not on your face and the delicate skin around your eyes.

BUT, if your body moisturizer is made with high-quality, skin-friendly, natural ingredients like our Fast Hydrating Lotion, then we highly recommend using it on your face so your visage can also reap the benefits of this magnificent moisturizer. The natural oils we use sink in to quench deep down dehydration, also making them non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t block your pores.

Some MooGoo products have fragrances. Aren’t they bad?

We designed all our products to be suitable for people with sensitive skin and scalps, but we also know that many people, including ourselves, enjoy having a fragrance in our hair and skincare products. To give them a delicious scent without compromising their gentleness and non-irritating nature, we use a hypoallergenic fragrant oil, a proprietary blend whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. Also, they’re all free from phthalates, which is a major concern in fragrances.

Are MooGoo products made of milk?

We aren’t called MooGoo because our products are made with milk. Putting fresh milk into a skincare product and putting it on a shelf would not end well. We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein from a credible Australian supplier.

Are MooGoo products suitable for children?

Our products are suitable for the whole family! For all ages, from adults to newborns, and everything in between. If allergies are a concern, as with all natural products, we recommend doing a patch test before use.

What is the pH level of your products?

All our products are slightly acidic, balanced to the pH of human skin at 5.5 to 6.0.

I have sensitive skin; will I react to MooGoo products?

Everybody is different and what works for some will not for others, and some people have allergies to natural ingredients. We believe that natural ingredients are gentler on the skin and are particularly suitable for those with sensitivities. If you experience any skin issues, we always recommend doing a patch test before use.

Are your products tested on animals?

The only animals we use for testing are our own bodies. We never test on animals and will not export to countries that do.
