Our Milk Wash is one of our most popular products. We combine small amounts of 5 different natural cleaners as this can be gentler on skin than one concentrated cleanser. We chose natural cleansers that wash well without drying out the skin. The foaming action isn’t quite as intense as it would if we used a synthetic detergent like SLS (or other common culprits that end in –fate), but we’re happy to make this small trade-off to use more natural ingredients that are healthier for us and the environment. Ever think about what happens to your wash products after they go down the drain? Synthetic ingredients don’t break down into their natural components easily in the water system as natural ones do.
We also use a mix of natural skin conditioning ingredients. We don't use any essential oils that can also trigger reactions, but instead, a blend of Vanilla with the allergy-triggering compounds removed. Because it’s so gentle it’s also a no-tears formulation in children's eyes. If you are a car mechanic, you may need something a bit stronger, but if you wish to stay clean without stripping the skin of oils, we think this formula is the bee’s knees. Suitable for all ages, body part and skin types.
Why don’t we make a face wash?
We get this one a lot. It may seem odd since many companies offer different products to clean your face then to clean your body. But in our opinion, we don’t think it’s needed if you make a good cleanser, and skin just needs to be washed. Face cleansers formulas should be gentle, not remove too much oil and not contain synthetic ingredients that can irritate the eyes. That’s exactly what our Milk Wash is. A regular body cleanser tends to have a slightly stronger detergents and remove more oil from the skin. But why should the face get all the love?
We like to keep things simple even if marketing can sometimes tell us otherwise and get us to believe we need a different product for every part of the body. This was is made for your skin so use it whenever you like on your face and body, and hands and feet too, we don’t discriminate.
Are you cleansers safe for lash extensions?
The Milk Wash is great for lash extensions. It has the same irritation score as water and uses a combination of gentle natural cleansers.
Is this product made of milk?
We aren’t called MooGoo because our products are based on milk. Fresh milk in a moisturizer would go off and be smelly. Yuck! We do use ethically and sustainably sourced Australian Milk Protein in some of our skincare products because research has found that it can increase skin elasticity by up to 20%. Skin elasticity ensures lines and wrinkles are minimized after any movement of the skin.
Why don't we make different cleansers for different skin types?
We often get asked why we don’t make different cleanser specific to different skin types such as dry, oily, normal or combination skin. While we believe that people have different skin types and different skin needs, if you look closely at ingredient labels, you’ll notice that there often isn't much difference between products specifically made for each variation. In our opinion, we don’t think all the different types of cleansers are needed if you have a good formula (we think ours are pretty darn good). A cleanser made for oily skin would have a higher concentration of cleansers than one made for dry skin, but you can achieve much the same result by varying the amount of cleanser you use or washing your skin twice, if needed.
