Like all our Lip Balms, our SPF 15 Lip Balm is totally edible! It’s made to moisturize, condition and protect, without any petroleum jelly or chemical UV filters. Instead, we use Zinc Oxide, a natural mineral sunscreen, for broad-spectrum sun protection, plus nourishing oils to keep lips soft and healthy. One of the most natural SPF lip balms out there, so you can go soak up the sunshine, worry-free.

Is your SPF Lip Balm reef safe?
Yes! We use Zinc Oxide with a median particle size of 0.31 microns (310 nanometres), with all particles between 0.25 and 0.35 microns. Particles larger than 100 nanometres are generally considered safe for both humans and the reef, so our sunscreen won’t be ingested by marine life or harm coral.
We also avoid chemical UV filters like Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, which are known to damage coral reefs.
What ingredients do you avoid when making a lip balm?
We’re picky about what goes into our Lip Balms (and all our products) because they’re made for family and friends, not just customers. That means no petroleum-derived Paraffin or Mineral Oil, common in most commercial lip balms, because putting what you’d find in your car on your lips just doesn’t feel right, especially when it eventually gets ingested.
We also steer clear of synthetic preservatives like Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, which you’ll still see in many so-called “natural” brands. And that’s just the start! We avoid plenty of other nasties, too many to name here. The result? Lip Balms that are safe, nourishing and genuinely good for you.

Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet Almond Oil is extracted from almond kernels and is nourishing to irritated and dry skin. It’s high in minerals and vitamins, and the types of fatty acids needed to help repair troubled skin.
Zinc Oxide (Clear Zinc)
Zinc oxide is a naturally occurring mineral that is effective in sun protection because it doesn’t break down on the skin or dissolve in water. Instead it sits on the surface of the skin and reflects UVA and UVB radiation like a mirror.
Shea Butter
The natural complex fat extracted from the nuts of the Shea Tree, and one of the most intense moisturizing ingredients available. The traditional use of the butter is to reduce the appearance of fine lines, scars and stretch marks, and to ease a variety of skin irritations.
Jojoba Seed Oil
Jojoba Oil is extracted from jojoba seeds and is one of our all-time favourite oils to use. While it is actually a liquid wax, it is non-comedogenic (it does not clog the pores), extremely moisturizing, light and sinks into the skin easily.
Raspberry Seed Oil
A natural oil that is extracted from the seeds of the raspberry fruit. It is rich in fatty acids and is known for its moisturizing and skin-calming effects.
