This lovely lotion came to be after we got lots of requests from customers to make a light(er)weight formula. Our cult-classic Skin Milk Udder Cream has always been our suggestion for an all-round, restorative cream, but it seems that many of you prefer something even lighter. We’re pleased as punch to introduce to you the time-saving lotion we wish we’d made years ago.

This lightweight cream is no lightweight!

Our skin does oh-so much for us. It has a full-time job of protecting us, but sometimes skin needs some help to stay in tip-top shape. Even if you give your skin the royal treatment, you might just have temperamental skin that needs some extra love and support.

That’s where we come in. We’re passionate about skincare and with this moisturizer, restoring dull, dry skin back into a state of beautiful bliss no matter what MOO-d it’s in. It’s also quick-absorbing, easy-to-apply and smells like a delicious dessert.

Our high-quality ingredients provide skin with nourishment to restore optimal skin health. This multi-tasking face, hand and body moisturizer slides on s-MOO-th and delivers fast-hydration (hence the name), bringing skin straight back to its glory days.

What makes this formula fabulous is its ratio of emollients and emulsifiers, and concentration of lipids. This is why you won’t need to do much work to rub it in. Heavier creams are great to deeply nurture dry skin, but they also take longer to apply. We’re busy people, so we created a cream that saves us all a bit of time.

Mandatory moisturizing

Keeping skin hydrated is more important than you think. When it's dry, it's much easier for irritants to pass through the skin barrier, causing dryness to drag on and sensitivities to start.

This all-over moisturizer is chock-full with GOO-ness we'd like to brag about. The name of the game is hydrating skin, so we made this cream with specifically selected Sweet Almond Oil and Olive Squalane because they're lightweight and skin slurps them up.

We also included some key ingredients to make sure skin gets some top-notch pampering and TLC too. Aloe Vera is well-known for its soothing properties, Natural Vitamin E is a renowned antioxidant and German Chamomile keep things cool and calm.

But we didn’t stop there. We also added in a healthy dose of Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3 that's well-known to improve skin tone whilst reducing redness and calming skin irritation. And the research keeps coming out to back it up, making it one of the most impactful and exciting skincare ingredients on the block.

Why we choose what we use

It’s common to think all moisturizers are created equal, but that is most definitely not the case. Most commercial moisturizers are made with petroleum-based ingredients like Mineral and Paraffin Oil that make your skin feel smooth, but don’t provide much benefit. Even moisturizers that come in clinical-looking bottles aren’t usually made with anything to write home about.

As with all our products, we use a natural preservation system to keep things fresh. It’s free from Parabens, Phenoxyethanol, and other harsh chemicals commonly found in skincare products.

What skin type is your Fast Hydrating Lotion best for?

We make all our products suitable for all skin types, and this is no exception. Because it rubs in so easily and absorbs so quickly, we think it's particularly suitable for those with sensitive, damaged, thin and/or fragile skin, or anyone going through chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Application doesn’t require much effort as you don’t have to rub the skin much to get it to sink in.

What's special about Fast Hydrating Lotion?

The biggest point of difference for our Fast-Hydrating Lotion is in its name; it absorbs quickly into the skin! This is due to the ratio of emollients/emulsifiers and the concentration of lipids. The ratio we use causes the formula to be light(er)weight and not require much work to rub it in. Also, the moisturizing oils we use in this formula were selected specifically because they're lighter and tend to sink into the skin more quickly than heavier oils.

Heavier creams are great too, but they can take longer to apply, and require more elbow grease to rub them in. This light(er)weight formula is perfect when you’re short on time and it’s also great for the squirmy little ones (children) that won’t sit still.

How does it compare to your other moisturizers?

We made this moisturizer after getting quite a few requests from customers to add a light(er)weight formula to our moisturizer range. Our silky Skin Milk Udder Cream has generally been our suggestion for those looking for a versatile all-rounder, but it seems that many of you want something a bit lighter.

The moisturizing oils we use in this formula were selected specifically because they're lighter and tend to sink into the skin more quickly than heavier oils. Our other moisturizers contain a different mixture of hydrating oils, each combination catering to a different skin concern such as general restoration, deep hydration, soothing sensitivities etc. Heavier creams are designed to deeply nourish and nurture dry skin, and even create a barrier of protection to bolster skin barrier function.

What's the difference between a lotion and a cream?

The main difference between a lotion and a cream is the texture and weight, with lotions being traditionally lighter and thinner than creams. A lighter moisturizer is great for those that prefer something a little more convenient as they tend to rub into the skin more quickly and easily. Its lighter feel also makes it more convenient to use on warm, humid summer days.

How much Niacinamide is in the FHL?

Our Fast-Hydrating Lotion has 2% Niacinamide in it, and Niacinamide has multiple benefits to the skin. This includes replenishing dull and dry skin, as well as soothing sensitive skin. It also helps with decreasing water loss, brightening pigmentation spots, and stimulating collagen synthesis, just to name a few.

Sounds like there isn’t much Niacinamide can’t do, and the research keeps coming out to back it up, making it one of the most versatile and exciting skincare ingredients on the block. We love well-researched ingredients with a clinical track record, and we also love seeing results, which is why we put enough of it in this moisturizer to make a noticeable difference to your skin.

Why is it only available in a 500g pump bottle?

Since buying in a larger size is usually more cost-effective, and as we're all looking for ways to budget our bucks these days, we decided to bring out a bulk-size 500g pump bottle to give you the best value for MOO-lah. This size also comes in handy when shopping for the whole family, so now there's enough for everyone. The pump top is also quite convenient and easier for the little ones.

I can’t seem to get all the product out of the bottle? Help!

Products with higher viscosity can be harder to dispense through a pump when the product is running low. To get your hands on the last bit of product, simply turn the bottle upside down and allow it to make its way down with the help of gravity. Later when you unscrew the cap, the product will be there ready for you to use and enjoy. You can also add a small amount of water to the remaining product and shake it to make it a bit thinner so it can more easily be dispensed through the pump or poured into your hand.

What other MooGoo products help dry skin?

For all skin under the sun, we always recommend using a natural and gentle cleanser in your face and body skincare routines, and we make 2 of them: our creamy, sulfate-free Milk Wash and our hypoallergenic Ultra Gentle Cleanser with Ceramides. These are particularly helpful for dry skin because neither of them will add to the problem by stripping it of its natural oils and causing further dryness. They also both contain nourishing and beneficial ingredients that keep the skin moisturized, soft and s-MOO-th.

Your Fast Hydrating Lotion has a fragrance. Aren’t they bad?

We designed our Fast Hydrating Lotion to be suitable for people with very sensitive skin, but we also know that many people, including ourselves, enjoy having a fragrance in our skincare products. To give our Fast Hydrating Lotion its delicious, subtle scent without compromising its non-irritating nature, we use a special hypoallergenic fragrant oil, a proprietary blend whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. Also, it’s free from phthalates, which is a major concern in fragrances.

Can Fast Hydrating Lotion be used on the face?

Yes, it most certainly can and SHOULD! Most commercial moisturizing products are made with cheap, petroleum-based ingredients like Mineral Oil that make the skin feel smooth, but don’t provide much benefit to the skin. Many body moisturizers are also made with powerful penetration enhancers based on Glycols and PEGs (essentially solvents) that help the cream penetrate the top layers of the skin, so they don’t feel as greasy. We suggest not using any creams that fall into this category, but especially not on your face and the delicate skin around your eyes.

BUT, if your body moisturizer is made with high-quality, skin-friendly, natural ingredients like our Fast Hydrating Lotion, then we highly recommend using it on your face so your visage can also reap the benefits of this magnificent moisturizer. The natural oils we use sink in to quench deep down dehydration, also making them non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t block your pores.

Is Fast Hydrating Lotion made of milk?

We aren’t called MooGoo because our products are made with milk. Putting fresh milk into a skincare care product and putting it on a shelf would not end well.

Is Fast Hydrating Lotion suitable for children?

Our Fast Hydrating Lotion is made for the whole family! For all ages, from adults to newborns, and everything in between. It’s even gentle enough to be used on delicate baby skin. If allergies are a concern, as with all natural products, patch test before use.

What is the pH level of your products?

Our Fast Hydrating Lotion is slightly acidic, balanced to the pH of human skin at 5.5 to 6.0.

I have sensitive skin; will I react to Fast Hydrating Lotion?

Everybody is different and what works for some will not for others, and some people have allergies to natural ingredients. We believe that natural ingredients are gentler on the skin and are particularly suitable for those with skin problems. If you're experiencing skin issues, we always recommend doing a patch test before use.

Are your products tested on animals?

The only animals we use for testing are our own bodies. We never test on animals and will not export to countries that do.

How can I avoid drying out my skin?

We've yet to meet anyone that doesn't love a hot shower, but sadly, hot water can seriously dry out your skin as it can strip it of its protective oils and essentially boil it, making it red, raw, and ready to kick up a fuss. So, save your skin and go lukewarm.

How can I show my skin some love?

Amid life’s busyness, it’s important to make time to show your skin some love. We all moisturize our faces daily (we hope!), but why should the face get all the love? Put the phone down and take 2 minutes to rub on some moisturizer all over your body. Once you start doing it regularly, it’ll become a habit just like brushing your teeth, and you’ll notice a mega difference in your skin very quickly. It’s also a great excuse to give yourself a mini massage and practice some mindfulness too. Now that’s multi-tasking.
