What's the best way to apply Scalp Cream?
For best results, apply the cream to a damp hair/scalp. Apply topically as required to red, dry, affected skin after cleansing. If applying to the scalp with a head full of hair, for best results, part the hair in as many places as possible, apply the cream and leave it on overnight. In the morning, gently dry brush the hair. You may notice that dry flakes will be removed; this is a good sign as it means a fresh layer of skin has appeared that should be free from irritation. Then wash with a natural shampoo like Milk Shampoo. As with all natural products patch test first to check for allergies.
How do most scalp care shampoos work?
Most scalp care shampoos out there don't care to much for scalps. Shampoos that claim to wash away flakes are made with a high percentage of detergents to simply strip away the symptoms (aka flakes), but they inevitably return, often with a vengeance, and the cycle repeats. We don't think this heavy-handed approach does your scalp any good as it can further dry it out and can end up exacerbating the problem in the long run.
Are MooGoo Hair Care products safe for colour-treated hair?
For those out there that colour their hair, a colour-safe product is basically any shampoo or conditioner that doesn’t contain sulfates (like SLS or SLES) and is not alkaline. We steer clear of sulfates because they strip the hair of its natural oils, but they also tend to quickly remove colour too. Alkaline hair products (like most shampoo bars) cause hair cuticles to open up and allows colour to leach out. All of our Hair Care products have a pH that is slightly acidic, making them safe and suitable for colour treated hair, helping your colour stay put and vibrant.
MooGoo Hair Care products have a fragrance. Aren’t fragrances bad?
We designed all our products to be suitable for people with itchy and sensitive scalps, but we also know that many people, including ourselves, enjoy having a fragrance in our hair products. To give them a delicious, signature scent without compromising their gentleness and non-irritating nature, we use a special hypoallergenic fragrant oil, a proprietary blend whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. Also, they’re all free from phthalates, which is a major concern in fragrances.
I can’t seem to get all the product out of the bottle? Help!
Products with higher viscosity can be harder to dispense through a pump when the product is running low. To get your hands on the last bit of product, simply turn the bottle upside down and allow it to make its way down with the help of gravity. Later when you unscrew the cap, the product will be there ready for you to use and enjoy. You can also add a small amount of water to the remaining product and shake it to make it a bit thinner so it can more easily be dispensed through the pump or poured into your hand.
Are MooGoo Hair Care products made of milk?
We aren’t called MooGoo because our products are made with milk. Putting fresh milk into a hair care product and putting it on a shelf would not end well. We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein from a credible Australian supplier.
Are MooGoo Hair Care products suitable for children?
Our Hair Care products are suitable for the whole family! For all ages, from adults to newborns, and everything in between. They’re even gentle enough to be used on delicate baby scalps. If allergies are a concern, as with all natural products, we recommend doing a patch test before use.

I have a sensitive scalp, intolerance for strong fragrances, and curly hair that forms ringlets when it's healthy. I've been through all kinds of shampoos, conditioners, and curl styling products trying to figure out what works for my hair. Most curly products are too heavy and weigh down my curls, so one day I wondered, " Do I really need a curl cream/gel anyway?!"
I decided to go "back to basics" so to speak and find a simple shampoo and conditioner combo to get back to healthy, frizz-free hair. MooGoo fit that description. I wash with the shampoo, leave the conditioner on for a few minutes, and rinse. While my hair's still soaking wet, I take a small amount of the conditioner and scrunch it in as a leave-in, then I plop my hair into a t-shirt towel for 10 minutes or so. My hair dries faster without adding creams/gels, and it dries with soft, defined curls. I'm getting more and more of my curls back each time I wash, and I'm so happy with how it looks with such minimal effort and time. I don't know how this routine will hold up when it gets super humid in the summer, but it's working well for now. (I should add that I have the protein shot, too, and sometimes use a tiny amount to help revive curls between washes, and I do mean "tiny"!) Highly recommended for curls that get easily weighed down with products and need a reset.
