This product was inspired by our infa-MOOs Milk Wash, and while it's gentle enough to be used on the face, it’s something we have a hard time getting our customers to do. So, we decided it was time to give the people what they need, and created a new face wash.

To do this, we changed up the Milk Wash recipe to make it even more gentle, hydrating and luxurious and kept in the Milk Protein to make this fancy formula everything dry skin dreams of.

Not all cleansers are created equal

Let us tell you a bit more about this caring cleanser. We use a combination of natural cleansing ingredients to remove excess oils and dirt from the skin, so it won’t leave you feeling dry, itchy, tight and ready to react. This skin-friendly formula will give your skin a gentle, deep clean while also being hyper-hydrating.

We steer clear of harsh detergents and sulfates like SLS & SLES, which are often found in commercial cleansers but are also used in commercial floor washing products and engine degreasers - no thanks!. SLS is the most common one, but there are others to keep an eye out for on product labels, usually big words ending in –fate.

We think these are too harsh to be used on human faces because they strip out and wash away too much natural oil and moisture from the skin. Keeping skin hydrated is the key to achieving soft skin that defies forming premature lines and wrinkles.

More than just skin washing

As well as getting the cleaning job done, there’s quite a bit more about our formula that we'd like to brag about. We only use high-quality ingredients to keep your skin nourished and conditioned, while Milk Protein helps to increase skin elasticity by up to 20%.

But what's in our all-natural hydrating face wash is just as important as what's not. Our formula also contains no parabens or other synthetic preservatives like yucky phenoxyethanol.

What skin type is Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser best for?

This cleanser is made for absolutely anyone and everyone but it’s especially effective for those with dry and/or sensitive skin types. We don’t believe in blasting skin with harsh detergents because stripping the skin of its natural oils can leave it dreadfully dry, damaged and distressed. This formula is designed to keep the skin clean while leaving skin’s natural moisture protection intact. It’s gentle enough to be used every day, morning and night, and even doubles as a light shaving cream.

Can Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser be used on the body?

While the name of the product says “face cleanser”, you can most certainly use this formula wherever you like, from head to toe. Most commercial face wash products are made with sulfates and detergents that clean the skin but can also often strip it of its natural oils. This gentle formula is made with high-quality, skin-friendly, natural ingredients so we highly recommend using it on other parts of your body so they can also reap the benefits of this wonderful wash. Now you’ve got a masterful multi-tasker.

Is Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser safe for lash extensions?

Yes! This formula is perfect for lash extensions because it has the same irritation score as water and uses a combination of gentle, natural cleansers. Oils can break down the glue used on lash extensions, so steer clear of using any oil-based cleansers, like our Oil Cleansing Method, on the eye area while you’ve got lash extensions in place.

Your Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser has a fragrance. Aren’t fragrances bad?

We designed our Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser to be suitable for people with sensitive skin, but we also know that many people, including ourselves, enjoy having a fragrance in our skincare products. To give our Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser its delicious, signature scent without compromising its gentleness and non-irritating nature, we use a special hypoallergenic fragrant oil, a proprietary blend whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. Also, it’s free from phthalates, which is a major concern in fragrances.

What is double-cleansing and what products do you recommend?

Double cleansing is where you wash your face twice in the same go, once with an oil-based cleanser and once with a water-based cleanser, one after the other. The order in which you do these comes down to personal preference. Some like to use the oil-based cleanser first (like our Oil Cleansing Method) to remove heavier makeup and SPF products, followed by the water-based cleanser (like our Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser or our Gentle Foaming Face Cleanser) to do the final clean sweep. Others like to let the water-based cleanser do the first pass and finish up with the oil-based cleanser to get even deeper into the pores and leave a sheeny residue on the skin. Haven’t tried double-cleansing yet? It’s so hot right now. We highly recommend doing this at least once a week to give your skin that extra once (or twice) over for the ultimate deep clean.

We also recommend a routine with regular, but gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin for a fresher, brighter, more radiant complexion. Our Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder takes on double duty with its 2-pronged approach to exfoliation, physical and enzymatic, to clear away dirt, debris, impurities and congestion.

I can’t seem to get all the product out of the bottle? Help!

Products with higher viscosity can be harder to dispense through a pump when the product is running low. To get your hands on the last bit of product, simply turn the bottle upside down and allow it to make its way down with the help of gravity. Later when you unscrew the cap, the product will be there ready for you to use and enjoy. You can also add a small amount of water to the remaining product and shake it to make it a bit thinner so it can more easily be dispensed through the pump or poured into your hand.

Is Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser made of milk?

We aren’t called MooGoo because our products are made with milk. Putting fresh milk into a skincare product and putting it on a shelf would not end well. We use ethically and sustainably sourced Milk Protein from a credible Australian supplier.

Is Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser suitable for children?

Our Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser is for the whole family! For all ages, from adults to children, and everything in between. If allergies are a concern, as with all natural products, we recommend doing a patch test before use.

Where do you source your Milk Protein?

When sourcing ingredients, animal welfare is a topic that we’re very mindful of. We source our Milk Protein from a credible supplier in Australia and we spoke with them extensively to ensure that ethical practices are implemented throughout their business.

What is the pH level of your products?

Our Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser is slightly acidic, balanced to the pH of human skin at 5.5 to 6.0. pH is measured from 0 to 14 depending on how acidic or alkaline a substance is.

Healthy skin can retain moisture, maintain a robust microbiome and keep irritants away. Using a cleanser that's pH balanced to match our skin is one of the best ways to support this.

I have sensitive skin; will I react to Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser?

Everybody is different and what works for some will not for others, and some people have allergies to natural ingredients. We believe that natural ingredients are gentler on the skin and are particularly suitable for those with sensitivities. If you experience any skin issues, we always recommend doing a patch test before use.

Are your products tested on animals?

The only animals we use for testing are our own bodies. We never test on animals and will not export to countries that do.

Are natural cleansers good for your skin?

Detergents and sulfates like SLS, which are often found in skin wash products are also used in commercial floor cleaning products. We think these strip out and wash away too much oil and moisture from the skin, often causing itchiness, irritation and dryness. We think switching to a gentler, more natural face wash is one of the best things you can do for your skin.

Is natural face wash better for the environment?

Natural cleansers are also much better for the environment when they’re washed down the drain and enter our waterways as they break down more quickly than synthetic ingredients.

Does natural face wash work?

Natural face washes work just as well at washing the skin as their synthetic counterparts. But the foam and suds created by cleansers in natural cleaners is noticeably less than those made by their commercial counterparts, which can make it feel less effective. We think this trade-off is well worth the extra benefit.

Why are natural cleansing products better?

The best kind of cleanser for sensitive skin or skin prone to eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis is one that can gently and effectively keep it clean without stripping it of its natural, protective oils and not cause further irritation. Harshly stripping the skin can compromise skin barrier function, which can cause moisture to escape causing dryness, and unwanted irritants to get in causing skin reactions to flare-up, stick around and come back uninvited.
