Clean skin is the first step to healthy skin, but sometimes you need a little something extra to help dead skin cells MOO-ve along, buff away the day and reveal a fresh face.

Since making soothing and gentle products is always our priority, we carefully designed this non-abrasive, dual-exfoliating facial polish to be gentle enough to be used every day, and suitable for ALL skin types, including you super sensitive ones out there.

How we handle exfoliation

We believe the most effective way to exfoliate is with dual exfoliation. This means we take an elegant, 2-pronged approach (enzymatic and physical) to achieve s-MOO-ther, brighter skin.

Our unique formula contains a very calculated percentage (1.5%) of Salicylic Acid (BHA) which are plant-derived organic acids. BHA's are oil-soluble, which makes it easy for them to penetrate deep into pores to mingle with deep down dirt and hardened sebum (skin’s natural oil) and clear out dead skin cells and congestion, while also regulating sebum production.

We also like to get our scrub on, but this type of exfoliation is notorious for being overly harsh on the skin, even damaging the skin barrier and causing sensitivity. Instead, we use Rice Bran Powder for its delicate physical structure and its antioxidant-rich, moisturizing proteins, making it gentle, but effective.

The combination of these two magnificent exfoliators will leave your skin noticeably fresh, glowing and soft.

More than just scrub-a-dub-dub

As well as getting the exfoliating job done, there’s quite a bit more about our formula that we'd like to brag about. Our skin-friendly formula is made with naturally derived cleansing and buffing ingredients that come together to make our earthy powder. We made this caring, non-comedogenic facial polish so we can have all the benefits of a daily face scrub without any of the worry.

In this fancy formula you'll also find Bentonite Clay because it helps draw out deep impurities. Because we make all our products for people with sensitive skin, we popped in some Marshmallow Root Extract to help soothe skin and reduce redness. It’s suitable for all ages and genders, including the fussiest of teenagers.

But what's in our all-natural exfoliating face wash is just as important as what's not. Our formula also contains no parabens or other synthetic preservatives like yucky phenoxyethanol.

How do you use Gentle Exfoliating Powder?

Wash your face thoroughly with your favourite, natural cleanser. Dispense a few shakes into wet hands and rub them together to create a paste, then massage over face in circular motions. Add a few more drops of water if the paste is dry and crumbly. Rinse with water or leave on the skin for an additional 5 minutes to create a nourishing mask while you finish your other shower tasks.

Your Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder has a fragrance. Aren’t fragrances bad?

We designed our Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder to be suitable for people with sensitive skin, but we also know that many people, including ourselves, enjoy having a fragrance in our skincare products. To give our Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder its delicious, signature scent without compromising its gentleness and non-irritating nature, we use a special hypoallergenic fragrant oil, a proprietary blend whereby each component in it is less than the EU allergy threshold. Also, it’s free from phthalates, which is a major concern in fragrances.

What is double-cleansing and what products do you recommend?

Double cleansing is where you wash your face twice in the same go, once with an oil-based cleanser and once with a water-based cleanser, one after the other. The order in which you do these comes down to personal preference. Some like to use the oil-based cleanser first (like our Oil Cleansing Method) to remove heavier makeup and SPF products, followed by the water-based cleanser (like our Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser or our Gentle Foaming Face Cleanser) to do the final clean sweep. Others like to let the water-based cleanser do the first pass and finish up with the oil-based cleanser to get even deeper into the pores and leave a sheeny residue on the skin. Haven’t tried double-cleansing yet? It’s so hot right now. We highly recommend doing this at least once a week to give your skin that extra once (or twice) over for the ultimate deep clean.

We also recommend a routine with regular, but gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin for a fresher, brighter, more radiant complexion. Our Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder takes on double duty with its 2-pronged approach to exfoliation, physical and enzymatic, to clear away dirt, debris, impurities and congestion.

Is Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder suitable for children?

Our Gentle Foaming Face Cleanser is made for the whole family! For all ages, from adults to children, and everything in between. If allergies are a concern, as with all natural products, we recommend doing a patch test before use.

What is the pH level of your products?

Our Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder is slightly acidic, balanced to the pH of human skin at 5.5 to 6.0. pH is measured from 0 to 14 depending on how acidic or alkaline a substance is.

Healthy skin can retain moisture, maintain a robust microbiome and keep irritants away. Using a cleanser that's pH balanced to match our skin is one of the best ways to support this.

I have sensitive skin; will I react to Gentle Exfoliating Micro Powder?

Everybody is different and what works for some will not for others, and some people have allergies to natural ingredients. We believe that natural ingredients are gentler on the skin and are particularly suitable for those with sensitivities. If you experience any skin issues, we always recommend doing a patch test before use.

Are your products tested on animals?

The only animals we use for testing are our own bodies. We never test on animals and will not export to countries that do.
